The Earl E. Bakken Center for Spirituality & Healing’s Tibetan Healing Initiative (THI) offers student scholarships to participate in THI Tibetan Medicine Study Abroad Course in India.
The THI Tibetan Medicine Study Abroad course is open to University of Minnesota students, as well as faculty, staff, alumni, and community learners. Interested students should apply for a scholarship when submitting their application for the India program.
Eligibility
Scholarships are available to any student applying for the “Tibetan Medicine in India” course. Priority will be given to current University of Minnesota students. However, faculty, staff, alumni, and community learners may also be eligible for scholarships depending on available funds.
Deadline and Award Amounts
Scholarship applications will be submitted along with the course application due no later than three (3) months prior to the start date of the course. The India Study Abroad course is scheduled from May 15 – June 4, 2025. The application deadline for the 2025 course has been extended to February 24, 2025.
Scholarships ranging from $500–$1,700 will be available per student. The exact amount will depend on available funds.
How to Apply for a Student Scholarship
To apply for the scholarship, after applying for the course, submit a statement of impact (see below for details) to the Center’s Scholarship Committee at [email protected]. Scholarship requests will be considered during the application review process.
Statement of Impact Requirements - In 200 words or less, provide a statement of why you are applying to this scholarship and how receiving this scholarship would make a difference to your academic pursuance. Please indicate if you are receiving other financial support for your participation in this program and its source.
