Course Description

Course must be taken concurrently with CSPH 5703 Advanced Health Coaching Practicum I

This comprehensive and engaging graduate course delves into the essential elements of effective health coaching, focusing on motivational interviewing, the structure of health coaching sessions, and personal growth within emotional intelligence and mindfulness. Students will develop a deep understanding of motivational interviewing techniques and learn how to apply them to create client-centered coaching sessions that foster sustainable mindset and behavior changes resulting in improved health outcomes. The course also emphasizes the importance of structuring coaching sessions to provide a consistent and supportive environment for clients to actively work toward their goals.
