"As a person who had never experienced a blended (online and in-person) program, I was a bit nervous about whether or not I'd enjoy it or feel community. However, I have been pleasantly surprised at how perfect of a fit it has been. I work full time, so I need flexibility for where and when I do my school work. In addition, I feel an immense sense of community with my cohort and professors due to the activities we do with our peers and the subject of material we study which encourages connection and community."
"The program's online learning platform has exceeded my expectations. The professors provide a diverse mix of digital mediums to engage with the curriculum and fellow students. I don't feel burnt out on any one platform and their unique method of utilizing video-conferencing technology has allowed me to feel a sense of belonging, even at a distance."
“My greatest takeaway is that having access to a virtual coaching program in the world we live in today couldn't be any more appropriate. I feel it has been a realistic and eye opening training ground for working as a health coach in a virtual setting, as well as in person. Seeing how people are suffering emotionally, physically, and spiritually from the pandemic has increased my sense of pride and passion for being in the health coaching program. The need for virtual mental health and coaching support is probably higher now than it ever was. Discovering how many online mental health and coaching resources are available makes me wish I could work as a health coach NOW to support people through this challenging time. For those who want to help people increase their overall sense of wellbeing, this couldn't be a better or more fitting time to become a health coach given. I am grateful for the virtual platform of the program because I feel I get more out of the online discussions, flip grids, and video lectures since I can go at my own pace. It is more efficient as I spend less time commuting and parking. I really enjoy waking up, grabbing my coffee, and accessing the coursework through Canvas. I feel that my peer cohort has been able to create a unique and trusting connection and support group that was missing in my life. And what better way to take on a new challenge than to do it with other people who share the same passion. I believe that the virtual aspect of the program has made this stronger connection possible because it is easier to access people remotely than it is in person.”
