Chef and restaurateur Brenda Langton, is a pioneer of fresh, local and sustainable food, since the early 1970’s. She has worked directly with local producers and growers as a member of the early vegetarian cooperative restaurant – Commonplace in St. Paul Minnesota.
Opened her own Natural Foods Restaurant, Café Kardamena in 1978 at 21 years old in St. Paul.
Moved to Minneapolis and built Café Brenda in 1986, closed it after 24 successful years.
Opened Spoonriver Restaurant and the Mill City Farmers Market in 2006 on the Plaza next to the Guthrie Theatre.
