Bio

Dr. Erin Erickson is an integrative medicine nurse practitioner – board-certified in women’s health and family practice, a National Board Certified Health & Wellness Coach, and a specialist in maternal-child health. She has extensive experience speaking and writing on issues related to maternal-child health, integrative health, mind-body medicine, and parenting.

After completing her Master of Public Health (MPH) in Maternal-Child Health Epidemiology and her Graduate Certificate in Health Coaching, Erin felt drawn to direct patient care and decided to pursue a career in nursing. She completed the Master of Nursing program and the Doctor of Nursing Practice program in Women’s Health at the University of Minnesota and a Post-Graduate Certificate in Family Practice at the University of Cincinnati. During her doctoral studies, Erin received a George Family Foundation Fellowship, which allowed her to pursue studies in Functional Medicine and consciousness-based leadership and change theory through the Presencing Institute (Theory U). She subsequently completed her Master of Arts in Integrative Health and Wellbeing Coaching at the University of Minnesota. She is an Institute for Functional Medicine Certified Practitioner (IFMCP) and is trained in clinical hypnosis. Currently, she does virtual integrative and functional medicine consultations through the Penny George Institute for Health and Healing at Allina Health and virtual health coaching through her private coaching practice.

In addition to this work, Dr. Erickson is the co-founder and co-host of a popular parenting podcast called Mom Enough® (momenough.com), which has produced more than 500 episodes and has listeners in 30 countries around the world. In May 2016, Erin received the University of Minnesota’s School of Public Health Alumni Innovator Award for her work providing free, public health information to parents and others who care for children through Mom Enough. Erin loves working with families and is dedicated to sharing her understanding of the mind-body connection and mindfulness-based skills to help both parents and children become more reflective and intentional in their lives.

In her personal time, Erin is in the thick of everything the Mom Enough show addresses with her three teenage children and her husband, Brett. They enjoy playing music together, learning new art techniques (from wood carving to glass blowing), traveling near and far, and spending time in the wilderness, especially backpacking in the mountains and canoeing in the BWCA. Erin also loves creative writing, reading, playing the banjo (her newest instrument), and weaving – a passion she and her daughter share.

Erin is thrilled to be working with students in the Integrative Health Coaching program. She is excited to watch the journey unfold for each of her students, knowing they will be making a significant and positive impact on the health of their communities and the world around them.
