Summary
Dr. Hathaway is a clinical psychologist (practitioner/teacher/researcher) with special expertise in the area of health (medical/dental) psychology. She is passionate about the importance of self-care and resilience, particularly for healthcare practitioners and their patients. Her research and teaching interests include resilience, self-care, psychophysiology, health habit training, health education, compliance and treatment outcome measures, and cognitive/behavioral approaches to wellbeing. Dr. Hathaway has 30 years of didactic and clinical teaching experience at the University of Minnesota and elsewhere in graduate professional programs with students in specialty dental programs, graduate fellows in pain, advanced psychology students (doctoral level and pre-doctoral), nursing and physical therapy students, undergraduate dental students and community practitioners. She also has 30 years of clinical practice in general psychotherapy and inter-professional work.
