Bio

Kely’s work has taken many forms throughout her career as an educator, including classroom teaching, developing training for nonprofit organizations, and supporting the design and delivery of the Bakken Center’s academic courses, community outreach, and continuing education programming.

Coming from a background of arts and career/technical education, Kely places a deep value in hands-on exploration, developing skills that translate across daily life and within the workplace, and reflecting on both process and product – and loves to bring all of these things into practice when designing learning experiences for the Bakken Center.

In addition to her work at the Bakken Center, Kely is also an active contributor to the greater University of Minnesota community. Her recent leadership efforts across the University system include serving on various committees, including the faculty work group for PRISMH, (President's Initiative for Student Mental Health), the Academic Technology SHAREcase planning committee, and the U of M Online Steering Committee.

One of Kely's favorite things about working with technology is that it is constantly evolving. She loves having to learn new things to stay current, sharing that knowledge with staff, faculty, and students, and seeing it implemented in a variety of settings.
