Program Goals

Through Graduate Minor coursework, students of all ages and from all walks of life are inspired to broaden their worldview - one that emerges from creative exploration into health, human nature, and self-care. The program draws on the rich expertise of University and community-based faculty who encourage and challenge students to discover new ways of caregiving and cultivate diverse skills that will transform their life's work, experiences, and relationships with others.

The Graduate Minor program features interdisciplinary coursework that prepares you to:

  • Apply theoretical concepts and models to integrative therapies and healing practices
  • Conduct research in integrative therapies and healing practices
  • Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals and patients in cross-cultural healthcare systems
  • Use integrative therapies and healing practices.
  • Experiential, hands-on, and web-based learning are just some of the many strategies that Center faculty incorporate into their courses.

Graduate students who want to formally declare the Graduate Minor program must be enrolled in a major at the University of Minnesota Graduate School and designate the Minor on their Degree Program Plan. Students wishing to elect a minor can do so here. Search for Integrative Healing Practices.

Most individual CSPH courses are also open to health care providers and non-degree-seeking students who want to enhance their knowledge and skills.
