Summary

Abbey Metzger completed her Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree in Integrative Health
and Healing from the University of Minnesota in 2021. She is a Certified Hospice and Palliative
Care Nurse and a Certified Resiliency Trainer. Abbey currently works in Palliative Care at Mayo
Clinic where she works with patients and families to manage complex/acute symptoms and
promote quality of life and whole person healing. Abbey is passionate about building integrative
palliative care programming and has developed and implemented nurse-led Reiki, acupressure,
auricular acupressure, resiliency training, and mind body techniques within the Palliative Care
practice. Abbey teaches the Center’s graduate-level academic course, Redefining End of Life
Care.
