Bio

Jennifer Walter is an adult nurse practitioner with over 15 years of experience as an advanced practice nurse. She currently works  in the integrative health and wellbeing research program as a research provider. She started with the research program in 2018, and transitioned to a full time provider role in 2022. 

For the past 9 years, she has worked in internal medicine at M Health Fairview, providing outpatient primary care to individuals and families with acute and chronic illnesses. She has expertise in treating pain, mental health, and chemical dependency. During this time, she also worked as an on-call provider at Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation, Plymouth, MN, providing medical stabilization and treatment of drug and alcohol withdrawal of young adults on the inpatient medical unit. 

Jennifer has worked in leadership and management roles as a clinical nurse specialist in the nursing directorate at the Douglas Mental Health University Institute, Montreal, Canada. She has experience in both teaching and research. 

She is passionate about providing access to care to our underserved population, and treating co-occurring mental health and chemical addiction.
